Great golf course, horrible golf carts!!

Sep 2020

Nice course! A couple of very difficult holes. The course itself was in great shape, and the greens were very nice to putt on. A great challenge for any golfer. However, their golf carts are by far the worst I've ever ridden in. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, each person within our foursome had our own cart. Neither cart's brakes would lock, which made it very frustrating as this course has so many hills. I even asked other golfers if their carts were the same, and their answer was "Yes, oh my gosh, they are terrible". So if, PipeStone wants me to come back to this course, they'll need to get someone to adjust the brakes on the carts so they actually work.

Average public course.

Jul 2019 • Business

I play quite a bit of golf on public courses. When I played here I was not overly impressed. The greens are decent but I am not a fan of the design. It just isn’t as appealing to me as I like. Too many little tricks to just mess you up. You can hit a good drive and still be OOB or tree locked.

Range is too close too parking lot as I just missed getting hit by a ball as I got my clubs out of car. Park away from the range!!!

Bad Food Service Manager

Apr 2019 • Family

Pro at Pipestone Golf Club was very nice, but Emily Gillman, food service manager is a jerk. She (although others at course would) would not help us with a party of 11 guests make it work for the Easter Brunch. We would be coming down from Beavercreek in 4 cars, and if we were not all down there for their festival seating, we are out of luck. I do not need Pipestone any more. There are plenty of resturants better than their resturant that I spend money at. She even told me a unbelieveable story of trying to call me three times 4/19/19, saying my phone was busy. My phone did not ring, and no history of her call showed up. Tell the truth!!!

Nice course and a decent price

Oct 2018

We've played this course a few times and they've constantly been making updates. One time they were re-working a few of the tee boxes, another time they were fixing some ground under repair. It's a nice course, well maintained, the pace of play is pretty good. Overall, a decent course and good value.

Great Course With Good Degree of Difficulty, Friendly Staff

Oct 2017 • Friends

The course is well maintained and drains quickly after rain. Sand traps are in good shape, par 3’s are challenging as are many other holes. Ball placement is key on this course which makes it always a fun, challenging day.

Challenging Golf Course

May 2017 • Friends

The 2nd & 18th par 5, cart path only,
holes are two of the most challenging holes in the area. Tee shots on these holes

are blind shots to the fairways over risings. The slope on the 2nd hole is so severe that a shot down the middle can role into a water hazard that runs all the way to the green.
Many creeks meander through the course. Sand traps are well maintained. Greens are fast.
The roughs needed maintenance on the day we played. Balls hit just off the fairway into the long grass
required too many searches by everyone in our foursome which slowed up our pace of play.
Signing in was easy & the course has a large parking lot.
I would have rated the course higher if the roughs had been mowed more recently...

Great Layout and Friendly Staff

Feb 2016

Rolling contours, clearly well-maintained course. We played it just 6 days after they had snow and yet it still played nicely, even if soggy. The greens were impressive considering. Would highly recommend this, Yankee Trace and Beaver Creek if you're a serious golfer in the Dayton area.
