GSC Power-Division Camshafts - Subaru EJ255/7 Single AVCS S2

GSC Power-Division billet S2 camshafts for the USDM STi and WRX with Intake only AVCS.

 

These cams are built to suit the high horsepower Subis. With a power range of 500 WHP and up, you need some certain mods to utilize the true potential of the S2s: built motor, with a built/ported head, and a turbo capable of supporting 500+ WHP. Upgraded valve springs are required; beehive valve springs are recommended, but not required.

 

Please note that these are for the USDM models with AVCS on intake only!

 

Specifications:

Note:

- Upgraded Valve Springs are Required (Beehive Valve Springs are recommended)

- AVCS: Intake Only

- Due to the lobe size, head castings will need to be filed down slightly for clearance

- Proper break in and running high zinc oil is a must on flat tappet engines.

- *Must be installed by an experienced technician

EJ257 / EJ255 CAMSHAFTS
EJ257 / EJ255 CAMSHAFTS A series of low-volume versions with even greater power and grip were built by Subaru's in-house modifier, Subaru Tecnica International (STi). STi versions of the Impreza, which produced 280 PS (206 kW) from new, are often raced, largely unmodified, in the Group N class in various rally championships to great success. Introduced in 1994, the STi has proven to be a very popular high-performance machine in the Japanese domestic market. Introduced to the United States in 2004, the US model STi features the larger displacement 2.5L (EJ257) that features AVCS. These camshafts will also fit the 2006-2007 GDF/GDB/GDG WRX and STi Impreza (also known as the V9 or "Hawk Eye") in the UK.
Note: Intake camshafts are setup for AVCS operation. The above cams WILL WORK with AVCS. If running non AVCS setup is desired, you must install the four set screws (located in a plastic bag attached to the cam bag) in the front of each intake cam (dowel pin side) using a 2.5mm Allen wrench and LocTite. This will not allow oil to actuate the Active Valve Control System. These cams do not fit the 2008-up STi with dual AVCS.
EJ257 / EJ205 Adjustable Cam Gears
BC adjustable cam gears deliver the easiest way to dial in more horsepower and/or torque without getting underneath the valve cover, disassembling the engine or dealing with onboard electronics. BC gears are CNC machined from aerospace grade, 6061-T6 billet aluminum for ultimate tensile strength. Easy to read, laser etched face features micrometer style markings for precise adjustment (up to 10 degrees in each direction) and quick tunability. Each hub is held down by six Grade-8 hex bolts for maximum clamping ability. Hard anodized finish prevents premature surface wear.
Note: Torque the cam gear bolts, the 5 adjuster bolts, to 10-12 ft lbs.
CAM GEAR CLAMPING BOLTS
BC cam gear clamping bolts are a direct replacement for any existing BC EJ Series cam gear and are made from ARP2000 material and feature a polished finish to eliminate corrosion and rust from handling and moisture. Hardened to RC 45-47, the BC clamping bolts feature a 12pt head for unlimited adjustment without stripping like the Allen style fastener that's commonly used.
CAM GEAR FASTENER w/ WASHER
BC cam bolts for the EJ Series engine platforms are made from ARP2000 material and feature a silver CAD plated finish to eliminate corrosion from handling. Hardened to RC 45-47, the new BC cam bolts secure the cam gears permanently without the stretch common with OEM fasteners. Reduces the risk of the gear coming loose and causing severe engine damage. Works with all brands of camshafts and cam gears. The BC bolt features OEM thread pitch and under head length. Sold as one unit. BC8898 pictured to the right.
